My Background

Vanessa has been sharing her passion for healing with her community since 2014 when she began teaching yoga. She embraces the miracle and strength through community, breath, and the mind-body-spirit connection. She studied at Bastyr University to train in biopsychosocial and spiritual theories to continue to see people in a holistic lens. While in school, she volunteered through Cancer Lifeline on a telephonic help line, and worked as a health coach where she mastered Motivational Interviewing. She also honed her skills in behavioral therapy as a certified behavior specialist for children living on the autism spectrum. Before graduating, she completed an internship with Youth Eastside Services where she treated kiddos and teens in therapy using evidenced-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, trauma focused cognitive therapy, and mindfulness. While she opened her private practice, she was also to manageing a caseload at IKRON, where she treated adult individuals and runs a dialectical behavioral therapy group. Currently, Vanessa is a mom of two kids under 3 years old and trains yoga teachers.
